The middle of March is upon us and the fishing is certainly heating up.  Folks are catching fish on the typical nymphs on the Madison River, the skwala's are out and dry fly fishing is good on the Bitterroot and the Missouri is just starting to heat up. 

Each day more and more trucks pulling boats can be seen cruising the streets of Ennis. The shop sees a steady stream of folks getting new fishing licenses, buy new tippet to replace the old stuff, and loading up on flies before a day on the river. New inventory is arriving daily and the wall space in the store is becoming scarcer by the day. It is all about to begin here in Montana.

In the next month our guides will be conducting trips on the Madison, Jefferson, Missouri, Bitterroot and Clarkfork.  As a team we will be attending the Orvis Guide Rendezvous in Missoula, to refine our guiding skills and learn about  the latest in new gear and techniques.

Also, we just replaced our old clunky website and e-commerce site with a shiny new whiz-bang model.  Our internet ninja skills have really been put to the test. We will be having a fresh coat of paint put on the outside of the store to freshen things up and replacing the awning just in time for summer.  A busy month all around. 

If you are thinking about a trip to Montana in May plan to be in Ennis on May 16 for the second annual Tap in to Ennis Brew and Spirit Festival hosted by the Ennis Chamber of Commerce. Twenty breweries and distilleries, food, music and fun for the entire family.  It also happens to be  opening day of fishing for the Upper Madison and small streams.
