WE MISS YOU!
WE MISS YOU ALL!

This week will mark the observance of Yom HaShoah and we invite you all to join us in this  Zoom Room (password gbds on Tuesday, 4.21.2020 at 9:45am for a virtual ceremony presented by Mrs. Glassberg and Rabbi Liben. There are many evening virtual Yom HaShoah scheduled programs for Monday, 4.20.2020 and in order to allow for you all to attend these events we  are cancelling the "Catching up with the Leadership Team"  for this week only.

After receiving helpful feedback from parents, students and teachers we have made some adjustments to the remote learning schedule in Grades K - 8. The schedule has also been revamped to include direct links to all Zoom rooms. Once you open the schedule you can click on your teacher's or subject's name and go right to the Zoom room. If you do not know the password for your child's classes please contact the teacher tonight or first thing tomorrow morning. Students can also continue to enter their classrooms through the Google Calendar invitations as well.

The elementary grades have had some additional Zoom sessions, please check the schedule tonight or tomorrow morning before school starts. In addition, we are  so excited to welcome Mrs. Rubin back to the first grade to support learning in the afternoon. Her sessions are in the first grade schedule. We are also happy to add a new Library and additional Music sessions to the elementary schedules. Mrs. Levin will be hosting library sessions for students in 1st - 4th grades. Morah Einat will be teaching music twice a week in 1st - 4th grades.

Fridays have been designated "Flexible Learning Fridays" that include asynchronous, offline learning as well as individual meetings for students with teachers on an as needed and scheduled basis. This means that students will work on assignments from their teachers asynchronously (not in-person) and independently. Friday is not a break from Remote School. Instead, it is designed to foster independent learning and give a break from screen time. The teachers might also choose to catch up with or work with students individually or in small groups, as they would in the classroom, to reinforce or review materials presented on Monday - Thursday. Your teachers will contact you if needed.

Please review all relevant schedules carefully tonight so that you are ready to get back to remote school in the morning!

Remote school is ever evolving and your feedback has been very helpful in planning for effective learning and fine-tuning the schedule. Please continue to share your thoughts in our Remote School Feedback Survey . We are so grateful for all of your support throughout this challenging time.

Our teachers continue to work hard on prioritizing the educational and social emotional wellbeing of our students and our leadership team is here to support you.

Good luck and see you tomorrow morning at Tefillah,
Lina Shuster, Sheila Barbach, Sarit Ginzburg, and Susan Scher.
